De weg die voor ons ligt is leeg en geplaveid, met mijlen van het onbekende. Wat je bestemming ook lijkt te zijn. Neem het leven zoals het komt en neem het leven zoals het is. The road ahead (Miles of the unknown) was een hit van het Nederlandse duo City to City. Het nummer stond in 1999 28 weken in de Nederlandse Top 40, waarvan vier weken op nummer 1. City to City won vooral dankzij dit nummer een Edison voor Beste Nieuwkomer Nationaal. Het nummer werd oorspronkelijk geschreven voor een televisiereclame van het automerk Mitsubishi en werd al snel erg bekend.
